Students' scholarship cancelled by police request

ANKARA – Scholarships of seven students in Osmangazi University were canceled by security office of Eskişehir.

Scholarships of seven students in Osmangazi University were canceled by security office of Eskişehir because of they attended demonstration of First May. Students called Credit and Dormitories Agency (KYK) Eskişehir Province Directorship to ask the justification of cancelling scholarship. Students were informed that Agency cancelled scholarship because of they attended the demonstration of First May by received information from Anti-terror Branch.

One of the student Gül Hatun Altunkesen “ According to KYK’s regulations, scholarship of student  can cancelled only if sentenced by court. Therefore cancelling our scholarships is lawlessness. We are at a period that opponents are exposed any kind of oppressions by the state. Our scholarships were cancelled because we attended to demonstration of First May which is fully legal demonstration whole around the world. We acted with solidarity with workers on First May as students” said.
