Detained Villagers : We were exposed to torture on square of the village

MARDİN – Lawyer Hasan Özgen visit his clients whose taken into custody in Xerabé Bava Village in Mardin. Özgen said “ Detained villagers were exposed to torture on the square of village for three or four hours and their houses were burnt and raked through by state forces”.


39 villagers  from Xerabé Bava Village where is blockaded by soldiers are kept in Nusaybin  Province Gendarme Commandership  since 11 days. Lawyer Hasan Özgen “ Citizen stated that they were exposed to torture for three or four hours on the square of village by state forces and numbers houses were burnt and raked through” said.


“ 15 villagers are kept in one cell which is not lawful. Even their blankets were provided by their families” stated lawyer Özgen. 


Meanwhile lawyer also stated that villagers will be sent into the courthouse on Thursday on charges of “ association with illegal organization”.
