130 subcontracted workers dismissed by  appointed trustee in Mersin

MERSİN –  130 subcontracted workers of Akdeniz Municipality of Mersin were dismissed by appointed trustee on claim of “connected with PKK and FETÖ”. Dismissed workers reacted to decision by saying  “ Do they have any proof that we are connected with these organization ?” 


Appointed trustee to Akdeniz Municipality of Mersin dismissed 130 subcontracted workers of the municipality. According to trustee, dismissed workers are connected with “illegal organization.”  Workers made statement in the building of DİSK (confederation of progressive trade unions). Branch chair of DİSK in Mersin Kemal Göksoy “ Implementation towards dismissed workers is arbitrary and no lawful. Workers are punished as always and We are standing behind dismissed workers and struggling together until this unlawful implementation ends” said.


One of dismissed workers Ayhan Macit “ I have worked for eight years for municipality of Akdeniz. Dismissing us from our job is politic decision. But we will not bow the pressure and not let to seized our rights” said.
