Tens thousand people celebrate Newroz in Cizre

ŞIRNAK / MERSİN – Tens thousand  people of Cizre jammed the Newroz Celebration’s area and ended the celebration by marching with “Bijî berxwedana Cizîrê”  ( vive la resistance of Cizre ) chants.




Celebration Newroz in Cizre began at early morning hours by attending tens thousand people and ended with Kurdish singer Mem Ararat’s songs. Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) İstanbul parliamentarian spoke during the celebration to people and pointed attacks towards Cizre. “ All people of Cizre are still standing despite their home were destroyed during curfew and staked a claim to their Newroz. People jammed this area despite all pains, attacks and massacres. Gave a message that they are still standing and showed will never lose  like revolutionist Kawa against the Dehak” said Buldan.

 

“ As Mehmet Tunç said, you never kneel down nor bow in front of cruelty. We promise to Mehmet Tunç that We as Kurdish people never obey to anyone” added Buldan in Newroz Celebration of Cizre.




After Buldan’s speech Kurdish singer Mem Ararat took the stage and people danced the halay with his songs. Ararat “ I am proud to being in Cizre now” said and sang songs which he wrote on Mehmet Tunç and Cemile Çağırga who were killed during curfew in Cizre. After songs program ended and people marched to city center by chanting “with “Bijî berxwedana Cizîrê”  ( vive la resistance of Cizre)




MERSİN




Governorship of Mersin permitted to celebrate the Newroz at the last moment after it refused to be celebrated on March 19. Thousand people marched to the area where Newroz was celebrated. Despite police check points thousand people could passed the check points with their traditional colors.




It was reported that one person was taken into custody because he carried flag of PKK.
