HDP PM Çelik : Ministry has no an attitude for hunger strike

ANKARA – Spokesperson of Prison Commission of HDP Burcu Çelik point to critic situation of prisoners in hunger strike and said “ We met with authorities of Justice Ministry face to face but Ministry hadn’t an attitude. As human we need to take attention to prisoners in hunger strike.”




Indefinite Hunger strike without rotation  which was launched by politic prisoners for protesting isolation over PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan and demand to stop right violations in prison  reached to critic point in its 42nd day.




Families and lawyers of prisoners said health problem and weight loss began.




Spokesperson of Prison Commission of HDP (Peoples’ Democratic Party) Burcu Çelik said any petition was given to prison’s authority wasn’t answered yet. “ All authorities in charge should respond to demands of prisoners before situation not to damage people. Because all demands are rightful. We called number times to authorities but we didn’t received any answer” said Çelik.

Çelik also mentioned that they met several time with authorities of Justice Ministry but none of them had an attitude. “ We think Ministry has no idea what is going on in prisons. They are acting by received information from prisons’ authorities. No doubt that Ministry will see the serious situation if the visit to Şakran Prison” said Çelik.
