Message from Şakran Prison : Hunger strike will contine until demands accepted

İSTANBUL – prisoner Abdurrahman Yıldırım from Şakran prison mentioned that  despite hard conditions of prisoners in hunger strike they are intend on continue until their demand accepted.

Hunger strike in prison is continuing. Prisoner Abdurahman Yıldırım from Şakran Prison where hunger strike started 47 days ago spoke about situation in prison by phone call to his family. 

According to family prisoners launched hunger strike on two basic demands : To protest  isolation over PKK (Kurdistan Worker Party) leader Abdullah Öcalan and oppressions over people and prisoners. Yıldırım also said prisoners are intend on continue to hunger strike until their demand accepted.

“ Each passing days, prisoners’ medical conditions is going worse. Hunger strike was began to protest oppressions in prison. Common space and newspaper was made forbidden. Politic atmosphere outside is reflected towards prisoners. They don’t even allow us to see our friends in hunger strike” said Yıldırım to his family.

 Yıldırım “ Authorities react to our friends demands by violence. But whatever happens outside or inside , we never accepted humiliating enforcements and we will not” said.

Yıldırım also said prisoners are forced to naked body search when they were sent to hospital for medical examination. “ The important thing is condition of PKK leader. Our friends began hunger strike specially because of isolation over Öcalan” said Yıldırım.
