143 Journalists are imprisoned : Free Journalists Association 2016-11-28 10:12:57 DİYARBAKIR– Free Journalists Association (ÖGC) had announced a report about pressure upon the press since 24 July 2015. According to report 113 journalists were arrested since State of Emergence. ÖGC was closed by Decree with Power of Law. According to ÖGC report 143 journalists were arrested since 24 July 2015 and 113 of them were arrested in the State of Emergence period. 33 radios, 58 newspapers, 5 news agencies, 28 televisions and 18 magazines and 30 publishers were closed by Decree with Power of Law during State of Emergence. The first agency in Turkey and in the World JİNHA (Women News Agency) is one of the agencies which had closed by Decree. JİNHA website was censored 12 times and 4 reporters of JINHA were prisoned. Editor Zehra Doğan and Şırnak reporter Aysel Işık are still imprisoned. Another closed agency is Dicle News Agency (DİHA). DİHA was censored 48 times. 56 reporters were detained and 20 of them were prisoned. 10 of them are still imprisoned.
