İSTANBUL –  HDP (Peoples’ Democratic Part) co-chair Selahattin Demirtaş had sent a message for commemorating of Tahir Elçi. “  the legacy he left to us is  to tell the truth we believe  in every condition and we will keep going to do it” wrote Demirtaş.

 

HDP members in İstanbul-Şişli  had organized a commemorate ceremony  for Tahir Elçi. Ceremony was made in front of Pangaaltı Subway Station. Numbers of artists and academicians had participated as well.  People had gathered behing the “ We commemorate with respectful and yearningly” unfurled banner and  Tahir Elçi picture.




The last speech of Tahir Elçi before he was killed in front of Dört Ayaklı Minare (Four Legged Minaret) was read again by Gencay Gürsoy,Ferhat Tunç,Hasip Kaplan and Eren Keskin.




“I haven’t seen such as betrayal” 




 Also Elçi’s record was listened “We have dreadfully watched videos which Taliban forces were bombing the Buddha statue in Afghanistan years ago. We have also mournfully watched while Palmira, Mosul, Sinjar were bombed and destroyed by ISIL.  Unfortunately our historical artifacts such as Dört Ayaklı Minare are having same destiny. Dört Ayaklı Minare addresses to people “They shot from my legs.  I have seen many wars disasters but I never seen such as betrayal”
