Player of Amedspor Deniz Naki punished for prison sentence 2017-04-06 12:36:01 DİYARBAKIR – Football player of Amedspor Deniz Naki was punished one year six months and 22 days prison sentence because of his social media shares. Deniz Naki defended himself and said “all shares were about peace. Therefore I am ready pay a price”. Amed Sportive Activities Club’s player Deniz Naki’s case which he was judged on claim of “propaganda for illegal organization” because of his social media sharing during curfew .Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) Diyarbakır Parliamentarian Feleknas Uca and Ziya Pir, European Parliamentary (EP) member Fabio De Massi and German academician Norman Peace observed the Naki’s case. Deniz Naki’s lawyer Haldi Mızrak said his client gave peace message by social media shares. Therefore there is no any trace of “propaganda for illegal organization” claims, said lawyer. After lawyer’s statement court board decided to punish Deniz Naki for one year six months and 22 days prison sentence on charge of “propaganda for illegal organization”. Player Deniz Naki made a statement after court board’s decision. “ Actually I was acquitted at the first trial. It is sad leaving from the court house by punished because I have asked for peace. I do repeat my speech. I gave to people peace message and that I am against the war. I was punished because of this. But I will keep continue speak about the peace and against the war. I am ready to pay a price whatever comes” said Naki.
