Distirct Governor blocks support money of villagers for 'Yes' votes on referendum 2017-04-06 13:54:36 AĞRI – 17 villages of Tutak county’s support money for agriculture were blocked by district governorship. It was claimed that governor Erkan İsa Erat adopted this method because of ‘Yes’ campaign for referendum. Farmers’ support money for agriculture in Tutak county of Ağrı was blocked by district governorship. Despite money of 17 villages transferred to the bank , farmers can’t withdraw their money from the bank. Discharged chairperson of Ağrı Provincial council Ali Öztürk claimed, the money was blocked by district governor Erkan İsa Erat for ‘Yes’ campaign in referendum. According to Öztürk 17 villages are mostly supporter of HDP (Peoples’ Democratic Party). It was also claimed that governor Erat made numbers meeting with mukhtars and said “ If villagers don’t vote for ‘Yes’ they will not get their money back”. District Agriculture office said money was blocked as part of ‘terror investigation’ while mukhtars of villages weren’t informed yet.
