Hunger strike on 55th days : Nine more prisoners begin hunger strike

ISTANBUL-  It was reported that Nine women included co-mayor of Dargeçit Zeynep Sipçik and co-chair of HDP Muş province Elif Çetinbaş began indefinite hunger strike.

Nine more women prisoners began a hunger strike in Sincan Female Closed Prison where hunger strike has begun on Fabruary 23. After nine women began a hunger strike, number of prisoners on hunger strike increased to 16 in Sincan Prison.

Prisoner Sedef Demir said that they began indefinite hunger strike without rotation from April 3 in a written letter. It was also mention that imprisoned co-mayor of Dargeçit Municipality Zeynep Sipçik also began indefinite hunger strike.

Demir also remarked that all people in the world should know that they are serious on hunger strike until requests to be accepted. “ Because today all rights were suspended in the prisons and massacres is made by the state” said Demir.
