Kışanak may get  230 years prison sentence

DİYARBAKIR – Imprisoned Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality co-mayor Gültan Kışanak was indicted for 230 years imprisonment.


Kışanak accused by “ to establish and manage an illegal organization” and 41 times “propaganda for illegal organization”.  


 21 pages accusation was accepted by Diyarbakır 8th Heavy Penal Court. According to prosecutor who have write the accusation claimed that DTK (Democratic Society Congress) is legislative power of PKK (Kurdistan Workers Party) and Kışanak is manager of DTK.


All activities Kışanak did during her parliamentary period as co-chair of BDP (Peace and Democracy Party) was regarded as crimes by prosecution in accusation. March 8 Women’s Day, March 21 Newroz, demonstrations, statements about curfew in Silvan,Sur,Cizre,Nusaybin and Şırnak were regarded as crimes activities.
