Babaoğlu: Kurdish Language Day will be celebrated under pressures 2017-05-07 13:57:19 DİYARBAKIR – Executive of Kurdish Researching and Developing Initiative İrfan Babaoğlu says they will celebrate the Kurdish Language Day with events despite all banish. Babaoğlu also called people to protect Kurdish Language while pressure and destruction are continuing over the language. Kurdish Language Day , is celebrated since 2016 on May 15. Kurds are celebrating the day on May 15 because first literary magazine (Hawar Magazine) in Kurdish was published by Celadet Ali Bedirxan in Damascus on May 15 of 1932. This year the day will be celebrated under the banish over Kurdish Language in Turkey. Numbers of Kurdish Institutes, magazines, televisions and radios were closed by decree since state of emergence was declared. Despite these all banish, the day will be celebrated in Diyarbakır with numbers event on May 13. It was reported panel, theatre, poem performances and concerts will be conducted as part of day celebration. Babaoğlu emphasized assimilation and pressures are continuing over Kurdish Language even e century past. “ Therefore Kurdish Language Day has a vital importance in these such days. We will celebrate the day with a series of events despite all pressures” said Babaoğlu.
