Mother lives the day of Mother without his son Barış

İSTANBUL – 29 days passed over Barış Kerem was murdered by police in Gazi Neighborhood. Mother Melike Altunışık “ If Barış would alive, he would prepare a wonderful breakfast when I weak up to Mother’s Day. He used to make omelette and fired potato” said.

 

346 people were killed by police since 2007 after police’s powers were increased. Barış Kerem (18) was one of the last victim who were killed by police forces. Kerem was murdered while he was returning from picnic with his friends.




29 days have passed over Barış’s death. Barış’s mother Melike Altunışık is one of the mothers whose are not going to receive gift from their children on Mother’s day. 

Mother Altunışık didn’t change  her son’s room except putting a rose and a picture of Barış. All personal belongings  of Barış are still at his room. 




Mother Altunışık says Barış  ( means peace in Turkish) has different routines and a boy who always tried to be far from fighting. “ He has personality as his name. This weekend is Mother’s Day. If he would alive, he would prepare a wonderful breakfast at this table. He used to make wonderful omelette and fried potato. He was always preparing his surprise at Mother’s Day. He used to get a present even at st. Valentine Day. I never seen such a boy in my life. We celebrated his last birthday party all together with family” said mother Altunışık.

“ I never gone to the place where Barış was murdered. I thought to go to put flowers where he was killed. I also want to ask to police who killed my son that whether they gained anything to kill moy son. I am also wondering are those police’s mothers alive? Our children can’t be murderer even if they want it. Because we taught beauty to our children” said mother Altunışık.
