Thousands of trees is to be felled because of 'security' in Mardin

MARDİN – Thousands of trees will be felled on road of Mardin-Savur because of ‘security’.

Notice was sent to local authorities of the region’s villages which ordered to fell thousands of trees in the region. It was reported notice was sent to local authorities by Mardin Governorship and villagers were offered to fell the trees as forest workers in return of salary.

Villagers objected to being workers for felling the trees.

It was reported military activity had raised after the notice.
