“Even Kobané hadn’t been destroyed as much as here”

ŞIRNAK –  An old woman name Halime is sitting among the pile of rubble and telling with shed tear: “Even Kobané hadn’t been destroyed by ISIS as much as here”
Halime and her daughter with two grandchildren had to emigrate to Silopi when Turkish State began to destroy the Şırnak City. After 8 months Halime returns the city to resettle her house. The house relatively could stand. She motions to bull dozer and mentions that “There were houses and shops in this big city. We had everything. Youths were working at those shops. Therefore, not only buildings had been destroyed but also youths’ jobs have gone. Our youths had to emigrate to İstanbul because of this.

“The most thing makes me upset is silence”

Halime complains to peoples stayed silence against this destruction. She mentions “Silence and missing solidarity also caused to leave us to leave in the tents.”
 
Toys among the pile of rubble

Totally uninformed children are looking for their toys among the pile of rubble. Parks, streets, houses, shops … all had turned to talus deposit for children game field. A little bit elder children are extracting wheels from under the rubble to earn some coins.
