MKM HAD ESTABLISHED TO STAND AGAINST ASSIMILATION : GENIM

İSTANBUL – Sealed MKM (Mesopotamia Culture Association) had carried on work against assimilation of Kurds Culture and it language since 25 years. One of the singer of Association Genim said nothing has changed from 90’s until now.

 MKM was established by gathered intellectuals included Apé Musa (Musa Anter) and workers in 27 September 1991. Association’s aim was based on Kurdish language, culture and arts to keep stand against assimilation. MKM became a great association with its numerous branches in many cities of Turkey.
One of the singer of MKM Genim “Freedom movement’s fighting spirit had brought to Metropoles with its people. Those people who forced to migrate to western Turkey   had established this association to stand against assimilation” said.
“Closing the cultural association was practiced yesterday as today. But today they close by Decree with Power of Law. Any power could not oppressed these people.They could not even stand against people resistance.Therefore I am calling to people resist against these assimilation policies.”
