Tortured five prisoners transferred to another prison

VAN –  Five prisoners in Van T Type Closed Prision were transferred to another prison  without  confirmation of prison’s prosecutor after they were threated by warden as saying “ I will be your Esat Oktay” .




Vice Warden of Van T Type Closed Prisom had been raided to prisoner wings with 30 guards aon January 23 and five prisoners exposed to torture in raids. It was reported that five prisoners were transferred to another prison by Ministry of Justice’s instruction on January 28.  But It couldn’t report where prisoners were transferred.




Human Rights Association ( İHD) verified the transferring of five prisoners. Chair of of İHD Van branch office Murat Melet “ Tasks of Justice Ministry is launching an investigation to whom responsible on this implementation. Notwithstanding they didn’t launch any investigation but transferring the tortured prisoners. On this context we urge to Justice Ministry to do their task and penalize people who malfeasance “ said
