DTK co-chair Güven warns to government about hunger strike 2017-04-12 15:26:41 VAN – DTK co-chair Leyla Güven mentioned if government doesn’t accept the prisoners’ requests , power may not prevent a potential reaction. “ We are warning the power from here. No one can overcome from a possible death” said Güven. Hunger strike is on 57th days. Democratic Society Congress (DTK) co-chair Leyla Güven and Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) Van parliamentarians Nadir Yıldırım and Bedia Özgökçe visited to families who began hunger strike in Van for solidarity with their children on hunger strike. “ I suppose they have no news about Kurds’ resistance and hunger strike. AKP (Justice and Development Party) power and its ministers should look at the past and see prisons’ resistances of Kurds. People like Kemal Pir and Mazlum Doğan resisted in the dungeons and they won by this resistance” said Güven. Güven also called to government to remove isolation and lockdown over PKK (Kurdistan Worker Party) leader Abdullah Öcalan in Imralı Island. “ Kurds will not accept if anyone dies from the prisons. Government will have to face with reaction which they may not prevent. We are warning the AKP’s power from here. They have to give up from these policies” said Güven.
