Rate of unemployment rises up compare to last year

ANKARA –Rate of unemployment rose to 13 percent on January in Turkey , according to Statistic Institution of Turkey ( TÜİK).




TUİK announced its report of ‘Unemployment’s rate’ on January. According to report, number of unemployment raised to three millions 985 thousand from three million 295 thousand. It was also reported rate of unemployment rose up to 13 percent from 11.1 percent.

 

But according to DİSK ( Confederation of Progressive Trade Unions of Turkey) research, rates are quite different than government’s institution. 

According to report of DİSK ;


*Number of unemployment is 670 thousand in a year

*  Official number of unemployment  rose up to three million 872 thousand

* Real number of unemployment reached to seven million.

* Real rate of unemployment is 21 percent.

* Rate of unemployment in agriculture  rose up to 15 percent.
