Father still searches his son's body since 17 months 2017-06-16 14:23:39 DİYARBAKIR – There is no information about Hakan Arslan who lost his life during conflict in Sur for 104 days. It is claimed Arslan’s body was buried next to the Hasırlı Mosque but family aren’t allowed to have their son’s body since 17 months. Father Ali Rıza Arslan reacted to opening ceremony of Sur with Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım attending. “ I don’t want constructions over my pain” said father Arslan. ‘Construction of Sur’ is continuing with slogan ‘ Sur is raising with love’ after conflict during curfew. Despite numbers of bodies couldn’t found since 17 months, new buildings are constructed over unfounded bodies. Hakan Arslan’s bodies is one of those. Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım will be attending to opening ceremony of Sur construction today. After conflict ended, Turkish state began to destruct number of historic places and launched a new project which aimed to construct new buildings in Sur. Families of Arslan says despite they applied many times to authorities for having their son’s body, there is no any information except their son’s body was buried next to the mosque named Hasırlı. After family received information that their son’s body was located, they applied to authorities again. But according to authorities, no body was found after searching the area. Father Alir Rıza Arslan “ I am still surprised my son’s body is still somewhere in Sur. Governorship and prosecutor insist that my son’s body is not in Sur. But I am certainly sure that my son’s body is somewhere there. If they do nothing, then they let me do something to find my son’S body. I want my son’s body back. All doors I knocked was closed to my face. I and my son have no damage to anyone. I will not give up until I find my son’s body” said. Father Arslan also called Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım who will attend to opening ceremony in Sur today. “ My son’s body is lying somewhere in Sur since 17 months. He was just 24 years old. I don’t want destruction over my pain and my son’s body. I don’t want any opening ceremony to being conducted. Prime Minister should understand me as a father. Everyone visits their children graves but I can’t. I just want my son to have a grave which I can visit” said father Arslan.
