Berkin Elvan commemorated

İSTANBUL –  Berkin Elvan who was killed during Gezi protest period  by police fire while he was going to buy bread was commemorated at his grave. Father Sami Elvan “ Berkin might not die if we could stop dying of Ceylan and Uğur” said.

Berkin Elvan had been killed by police fire on June 16 of 2013 during Gezi Protest when he was 14 years old. Elvan was commemorated at his fourth year death in front of his grave. Number of citizen and activists attended the commemoration.

Spokesperson of Taksim Solidarity Mücella Yapıcı mentioned police who killed Berkin Elvan still free and called people to attend the case of Berkin Elvan.

 After the statement, Berkin Elvan’s father Sami Elvan made a speech. “ Our resistance for protecting our children for stop children to being killed. If we could stop Ceylan and Uğur’s deaths, Berking might not being killed. Therefore we need to raise our struggle for protect children from being killed” said Sami Elvan.
