Kemalbay: Demirtaş' case is another version of coup process

ANKARA –  HDP co-chair Serpil Kemalbay spoke to the press after trial of co-chair Selahattin Demirtaş. “ Implementation is new version of unlawful and coup process” said Kemalbay about Demirtaş’ was wanted to being sent courthouse with handcuffed.

 HDP (Peoples’ Democratic Party) executives made a statement after Demirtaş refused to being sent to courthouse with handcuffed. It was reported a large number of citizen included Demirtaş’ wife Başak Demirtaş attended the press statement.

HDP co-chair Serpil Kemalbay “ We had received news that co-chair Selahattin Demirtaş would attend the trial face to face.We had been applying for long time that Demirtaş should attend his all of trials face to face. Surprisingly our request was accepted yesterday. But unfortunately Demirtaş  was forced to being sent Ankara as handcuffed . Then our co-chair refused to attend because he was handcuffed” said.

“ Selahattin Demirtaş is still co-chair of HDP and an elected lawmaker who has immunity. We all know this is unlawful. Peoples are still protect Demirtaş’ struggle and they will. We condemn this implementation which aims to institutionalizing fascism. Demirtaş has immunity as much as Justice Minister, Interior Minister” said Kemalbay. 

Meanwhile police intervened the group who attended the press statement while Kemalbay was speaking. Kemalbay “ Things are done here is a coup implementation towards our party” said and reacted to police intervention.
