Musa Çitil climbs the steps one by one

ANKARA –Interior Ministry released appointed decree to General Commandership of Gendarme. Musa Çitil whose name mentions at Massacre of Derik that 13 villagers were murdered and sexual abuse towards Şükran Aydın during detention was appointed to deputy general commandership of gendarme.




Interior Ministry’s appointed decree to general commandership of gendarme was released at the official gazette. According to decree, deputy general commandership of gendarme lieutenant general İbrahim Yaşar and major general Ali Özkara were referred to retirement from July 24. 




Three generals and 14 colonels were promoted by decree. Ali Çardakçı and Musa Çitil were promoted from major generalship to lieutenant generalship by decree and both names were appointed as deputy commandership general of gendarme.

 

Musa Çitil’s name has involved Massacre of Derik that 13 villagers were murdered in 1993-94. Çitil had been acquitted from the trial and he had been promoted to generalship. 

 

European Court of Human Right (ECHR) had adjudged Turkey on case of Şükran Aydın  which Musa Çitil’s name has involved. Şükran Aydın had been taken into custody on June of 1993 and she was exposed to sexual abuse in the gendarme commandership of Derik. Despite Çitil was acquitted, ECHR had adjusted Turkey.

Meanwhile Musa Çitil had administrated “Bayrak-12” (Flag-12) operation in Sur where tens civilians lost their life and houses were destroyed.
