Message from imprisoned dihaber's journalist Alayumat : I am a journalist, not a criminal

HATAY – Our reporter Erdoğan Alayumat who was jailed and sent to Hatay Prison this morning sent a message via his family. Alayumat “ I am a journalist not a criminal. Journalism and free press can’t silenced” said.

 

Dihaber reporter Erdoğan Alayumat who was taken into custody in Antep and sent to Hatay was sent into court house of Hatay after 15 days of detention. Alayumat was sent into courthouse yesterday evening on July 28 on claim of “ providing information which should have keep confidential and share as spy”. Alayumat was sent to Hatay prison after he was jailed by court board. It was reported that family of Alayumat visited to prison this morning and sent a message from Alayumat. Mother Türkan Alayumat and sister Gurbet Alayumat told “ Erdoğan has good sprit despite he was put in jail. He told that he was sent to prison this morning and send greets to all friends.”

 

“ My brother told ‘I am journalist, not a criminal. I am in jail because of the news I reported news proudly. I will keep continue to write in jail too. Journalism and free press can’t silenced” said sister Alayumat.




Sister Alayumat “ My brother is kept in jail unlawfully. According to me, jailing my brother in injustice country is normal. My brother didn’t do anything wrong, but he was jailed because his job that he loves to do. I am always supporting my brother. He does his job in dignity and of course he will keep continue to do his job when he becomes free” said.
