İZMİR- Prisoners of Şakran Prison launched İndefinite hunger strike without rotation against arbitrary treatment and violation of rights.


Eight prisoners in T2 Closed Prison and five prisoners in T3 Closed Prison have been starting to İndefinite hunger strike without rotation since 15 February. Five women prisoners in Şakran Women Prison also announced that they launched İndefinite hunger strike without rotation from today against arbitrary treatment and violation of rights.

Representative of Zindanlarla Dayanışma İnisiyatifi ( Initiative of solidarity with prisoners) Selma Altan stated that violation of rights have raised after coup attempting with declared State of Emergency. Altan “ Around 50 guards of prison battered to prisoners that is only because prisoners didn’t take off their shoes. Prisoners named Yusuf Özdemir, Yusuf Aydın , Fırat Çalkan and Vahdettin Budak were wounded by assaults. Doctor also wrote battery report” said.
