MARDİN – Villagers of Xerabé Bava Village who were released after 14 days spoke out what they lived. Aziz Gürgün 71 year-old “They offered us to be agency for government exchange of releasing us” said.


23 villagers from Xerabé Bava Village of Nusaybin County were released after 14 days . Villagers spoke to dihaber about what they lived into custody.


Ebubekir Koçhan (60) “ Before raid there was no conflict. They suddenly came and raided to our houses and three or four helicopters landed to our village with numbers soldiers. They tortured numbers of our people during the raids. Specially people who are still into custody were exposed to torture. They also took mukhtar of village into custody. They were charging him on a bomb attack” said.


Koçhan “ When I was taken into custody they were oppressing over me. They were asking questions such as ‘What did you see?’, ‘Who did come to village?’. I told them I haven’t seen anyone whose not from the village. They kept us into custody only because this” stated.

Abdullah Doğan (70) “ Their felonies defamations and cursing were worse than torturing. They were accusing us to helping ‘them’. They took our six family members into custody. It was raining mixed with snow. We were waited out side from 3 p.m. until midnight. Then an armored vehicle took us to gendarme commandership” said.


“ I was thinking my wife and my children situation much more than mine. I never seen such a thing even in 90’s” stated Doğan.


Aziz Gürgün (71) “ Soldiers destroyed everything in house during raid. They didn’t let me see my child while they were battering him. Then we were taken into custody. I heard voice while my son was battered. I was released but my son is still kept into custody. I m a person 71 year-old. I couldn’t sleep on the ground but I was forced to sleep on ground for 12 days. They told me if I work for them as spy they would release me. I was telling them that I don’t know anything about they asked. But they were insisting” said.

Gürgün also said he has never seen this thing even in 90’s. “They were accusing me that I am a terrorist” stated Gürgün.
