Eight people jailed by social media shares

ANTALYA/ ADANA – Six people in Antalya and two in Adana were jailed on ground of social media shares.

Six in nine people who were taken into custody in operation towards Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) in Antalya on February 14 were sent into courthouse today. Six people were jailed on charges of “being member of illegal organization” and “propaganda for illegal organization”. Social media shares of six people were shown as evidences by prosecutors to “being member of illegal organization” and “propaganda for illegal organization” charges. Jailed citizen were taken to Antalya L Type Closed Prison.

Meanwhile other three detained citizen are still kept in police headquarter.


Also citizen named Metin Aksu and a child who were taken into custody two week ago by police raid in Adana were sent into courthouse today. The child and Aksu were jailed on charge of “being member of illegal organization” by secret witness testimony and sent to prison.
