ANKARA – Dismissed co-mayor of Ağrı Sırrı Sakık reminded that he was dismissed on date of when Kurdish politicians were taken into custody on 2 March 1994 and added “ History repeated itself after 23 years.”
Sakık commented after he was dismissed from mayoralty of Ağrı Municilapality. Sakık “ I was dismissed from mayoralty after three years I conducted for Ağrı people. We did Ağrı as the most peaceful city in Turkey by the projects we conducted with our team after people of Ağrı elected me as mayor of Ağrı. So our conscience is clear. I was taken into custody with other Kurdish politicians from the assembly on 2 March 1994 which means 23 years before. Today history repeated itself. But whatever it takes we will bring the peace to this region” wrote on his twitter account.
Sakık also commented to Dihaber about the decision of Interior Ministery that he was dismissed. Sakık pointed to coup towards DEP ( Democracy Party) on 2 March 1994. “ It seems Turkey didn’t take lesson from the past. History showed us this way is not a way for solution and someone insists to follow this way” stated Sakık.
