Human Rights Association : Implementations towards prisoners are worrisome

ADANA – İHD Adana Branch announced the report about violation of rights in prison. Branch chair lawyer İlhan Öngör mentioned that prisoners’ rights were suspended after State of Emergency and torture implementations increased seriously.


Human Rights Association (İHD) Adana Branch shared a report about violation of rights in prisons of Çukurova Region by a press statement. Right violations of Hatay T Type Prison , Hatay Children Prison, İskenderum M Type Closed Prison, Osmaniye T Type Closed Prison, Adana E and T Type Closed Prisons and Tarsus C Type Women Closed Prison were reported by İHD representatives.


According to report , Turkey as side of International Human Rights Agreement suspended all prisoners’ rights after State of Emergency. Implementations are conducted without considering International Human Rights Agreement and its constitution. “ Rights violation, torture, threats towards prisoners are reached serious dimensions in prisons. Continuing of these violations may cause of social problems and we are as human rights lawyers are concerning on these problems” said lawyer Öngör.
