814 right violations on Aegean Region : Human Rights Association

İZMİR – Human Rights Association (İHD) İzmir Province executive stated that 123 people were taken into custody and 16 of them were jailed on February 2017.

İHD İzmir Branch executive announced its monthly report on rights violation. Branch executive Ahmet Çiçek said “operations mostly were towards Kurdish and leftist politicians on February and 814 times right violations occurred.”

Çiçek also said “ 123 people were taken into custody and 16 of them were jailed on charges of “propaganda for illegal organization” and 107 were released by judiciary control decision.”

Çiçek also mentioned that six workers lost their life during work hours and two were wounded.

“ 558 refugees were captured and one refugee drown during passing to European countries from Aegean Sea” said Çiçek.
