MARDİN–Mardin Metropolitan Municipality co-mayor Ahmet Türk were arrested.

DBP (Democratic Regions Party) co-mayor Ahmet Türk were taken into custody on November 21. Today Prosecution had brought to him to the court by demanding arrest. 74 years old Ahmet Türk was arrested on charges of “ being member of illegal organization” by the court.

Who is Ahmet Türk?

Ahmet Türk was born in 1942 in Mardin. He had been elected in 1973 election as Mardin parliamentarian. He had been arrested in 12 September 1980 and had been agonized in the Number 5 Diyarbakır Prision

After he released from prison, He had kept continue to work in different left political parties as a politician. Türk had elected as parliamentarian again in 1990’s period and had arrested due to He had participated Paris Kurdish Conference in 1994. After DTP (Democratic Society Party) had estabilished he elected as parliamentarian again in 2007. At last Ahmet Türk was elected as Mardin Municipality co-mayor in 2013.
