ÇGD : Journalist Demir should be released immediately

ANKARA – ÇDG chair Ahmet Abakay urged immediately to release detained journalist Hayri Demir. “ Turkey and we don’t deserve this. We all want to make journalism. Therefore we all want to our co-worker to be released immediately” said Abakay.


Chair of Progressive Journalist Association Ahmet Abakay made statement about detantion of Dİhaber journalist Hayri Demir. Abakay urged Demir to be released immediately. “ There are 157 imprisoned journalist and they want to arrest more by detaining journalist Demir. Unfortunately journalism, reporter and receiving or reporting news are crime in Turkey. To be journalist in Turkey is like walking on mine field. Unfortunately we all spend our efforts with prisons and detentions. We as journalist ask to our co-worker to be released immediately” said Abakay.
