NEWS BUREAU – Tens thousand people gathered in Newroz areas in Batman, Siirt, Dersim and Bingöl.

Tens thousand people attended to organized Newroz Celebrations by DBP ( Democratic Region Party) in Batman, Siirt, Dersim and Bingöl cities.

DERSİM

Thousand people attended to Newroz Celebration in Seyit Rıza Square of Dersim by “ We will certainly win” title. People danced the halay with Kurdish singer Seyda Perinçek’s songs.

Also imprisoned co-mayors of Dersim Municipality Mehmet Ali Bul and Nurhayat Altun’s messages were read to people.

“ Newroz is resistance’s name and day. It has been becoming symbol of resistance from Kawa to Mazlum Doğan. Despite we were elected by your votes we were discharged without asking you. We would like to say one more : We never steal from anyone. You are the only authority who has right to discharging us. But struggling is just beginning from prison to outside until April 16. We believe that we will celebrate the Newroz all together on 2018. Until then we send our greets to all of you” said co-mayors.

BİNGÖL

People began to pour the area where Newroz was celebrated in Bingöl. Despite snowing and cold weather thousand people took place in Newroz area with their traditional colors. The stage’s location had changed three times by police and electricity wasn’t given for long time under ground of technical problem. People chanted all together “ We will win by resisting” and danced the halay by youth songs.

Also HDP İstanbul Parliamentarian Hüda Kaya made a statement to people and reminded the meaning of Newroz for Kurdish people.

HDP Bingöl parliamentarian Hişyar Özsoy spoke after Kayaç Özsoy “cowards die many times before their deaths” said and added “ They will lose no doubt of that. Do not believe what they are saying anymore. They said they would have free travel right to Europe after June 7 election. But now even their ministers can’t go to Europe. Don’t surprise when they to being take into custody” said Özsoy.

BATMAN

Despite State of Emergency conditions , people of Batman gathered in Newroz Area. It was reported that messages of imprisoned HDP co-chair Figen Yüksekdağ and Selahattin Demirtaş and DBP co-chair Sebahat Tuncel were read.

HDP parliamentarian Ayşe Acar Başaran spoke to people and said “ They are dictating to us ‘One state, one flag and one nation’ to us. We definitely reject it and we will say ‘No’ to this constitutional amendment. We say ‘democratic republic system’ against ‘monist system’. We will say ‘No’ to mentality which jailed our co-mayors and appointed trustee to their positions.”

HDP Diyarbakır parliamentarian Nimetullah Erdoğmuş spoke after parliamentarian Acar. “ We will say ‘No’ in referendum which is conducted without morality. Law is seized by government today. Therefore it is not has independence. To say ‘No’ means is refusing the cruelty, inequality” said Erdoğamuş.

After statements people left the area by chanting “Bê Serok jiyan nabe” ( No life without leader). Also tension occurred between citizen and police forces for a while but after party’s members’ intervention citizen left the area.

SİİRT

Tens thousand people gathered for Newroz Celebration in Siirt. HPD Siirt parliamentarian Kadri Yıldırım, HDP province executives, DPB central executive member Perihan Ağaoğlu and member of Peace of Mother Hediye Suçi attended to the celebration.

Police also didn’t allow to youths under 18 and old people because they didn’t bring their ID cards to enter the area.

It was also reported that police attacked by gas bombs to a group who were watching the celebration from other side of barriers. After intervention by police group spread to different streets and police with armored vehicles attacked to separated people.

HDP Siirt province co-chair Abdullah Çetin condemned to police intervention towards citizen.

It was also reported that imprisoned co-mayor of Siirt Municipality Tuncer Bakırhan and Siirt parliamentarian Besime Konca’s greets for Newroz were sent.
