ANKARA – HDP lawmaker of Ankara Sırrı Süreyya Önder disclaimed that he is going to retire from politic and said “ I am one of the founder of HDP’s idea and I am continuing to being member of HDP proudly”. Önder also told government will be responsible if anything happens to Nuriye Gülmen and Semih Özakça.



Claims that HDP (Peoples’ Democratic Party) lawmaker of Ankara Sırrı Süreyya Önder will going to retire from politic from yesterday on. Despite claims, Sırrı Süreyya Önder was the first lawmaker who went to see detained academicians Nuriye Gülmen and Semih Özakça during hunger strike.




Sırrı Süreyya Önder reacted that academicians being detained during hunger strike. “ The most extensive unlawful treatments are conducted against hundred thousands public official by discharging them. A lawmaker of AKP (Justice and Development Party) who is also member of Human Rights Commission member says hunger strike has no place in our religion. This is only statement was released by government. No one asked to power about this statement. Now I am asking : Is there any place in our religion that seizing livelihood of people? After this time, peace and democratization can be possible with extensive public’s request and objection. Believing AKP will be democrat by itself is purity” said Önder.




Önder also spoke about claim that he will going to resign from politic. “ There is no any word that I will resign from politic at that interview. I told them I will continued to make politic with cinema as well. But mainstream media has captioned as “I will resign” which is not true. I am one of the founder of HDP ideas which I am proud of. Therefore leaving HDP or politic is out of question” said Önder.
