DİYARBAKIR – Seven years have passed on Aydın Erdem murdered. 6 December of 2009 Dicle University student Aydın Erdem was shot from his back that claimed by police forces. Despite seven years passed, perpetrators could be found. Father Mahmut Erdem said that he will not go to his son grave and added “They are frightening even from our dead bodies”.




Aydın Erdem was killed in the protesting against closed DTP (Democratic Society Party). Aydın Erdem brother Cengiz Erdem was also killed by police fire in Kızıltepe on 13 January 2016.




Father Erdem that he is living in Mersin, “My son was a conscious person. We had grew up together. He wasn’t calling me ‘father’. We both were like friends” said.




Father Erdem’s other son Cengiz was executed by police fire on last January 13. His son was executive of DBP (Democratic Regions Party) and Kurdish teacher. “State pushed my son around due to he was Kurdish teacher and Aydın’s brother. We never wanted to spilled blood. But they killed my both sons. I don’t want to anyone else to die anymore. Neither guerilla nor state forces. I don’t want to even my son’s perpetrator to die.We have to insist to peace. But they are frightening from our dead bodies same as our alive bodies. I never left my son grave since seven years.But I will not go to see him this year. Because recent war concept doesn’t let me go” said father Erdem.




İHD (Human Rights Association) Diyarbakır branch law commission member and Erdem family lawyer Abdullah Zeytun stated that prosecution declared to proceed no further in spite of numbers witnesses’ statements.




Zeytun “there was attempting to spoliation of evidence on Investigation file at first days. File was shelved same as other dead incidents files” said.



Aydın Erdem Case




Six spent bullets was found in Diyarbakır Police Headquarter’s toilet. Spent bullets was belonging to anti-terorism section polices S.B, V.Ö and T.M.Bullets were fired during the protest agains closing DTP which Aydın Erdem was killed. Also witnesses stated that a man who closed his face by kaffiyeh had shot to Aydın Erdem.But Prosecution didn’t investigate of witness statement.Then Prosecution declared to proceed no further on Aydın Erdem Case despite the evidence and spoliation attempting of evidence by suspects.
