VAN – Investigation was launched towards 70 members alderperson of Van Municipality by Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu’s directive on claim of impeachment because of alderpersons utilized public domain as ‘green space’ after earthquake on 2011.




Investigation was launched towards alderpersons of Van Municipality because they utilized public domains as ‘green space’ after a number public establishments were destructed such as state hospital, military buildings on earthquake of 2011 in Van. Alderperson of Van and Lawyer Abdulbasit Bildirici told investigation was launched toward them by Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu’s directive on claim of impeachment.



Bildirici “ We as alderperson of Van Municipality planned a ‘green project’ and utilized public establishments which were demolished after earthquake as park and green field. We aimed to serve public by ‘green space’ project. But after trustee was appointed to the municipality, he canceled the plan. Why did he? Because they will sell these public spaces to someone. They will construct building and sell to people” said.



“ 70 alderperson of Van Municipality are investigated now. We were having decision with 70 people but they are having decision only with four people who were appointed by Interior Ministry despite we were elected by people of Van” said Bildirici.
