Buldan : Violence against women is connected to isolation over Öcalan

DİYARBAKIR –HDP lawmaker and member of Imrali Committee Pervin Buldan said attacks against women is not independent with isolation over PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan. “ We will raise our struggle to remove isolation over Öcalan” said Buldan.

HDP (Peoples’ Democratic Party) lawmaker of İstanbul and member of Imrali Committee Pervin Buldan spoke to dihaber about isolation over PKK (Kurdistan Workers Party) Abdullah Öcalan.



“We haven’t visited to Öcalan who is quite important for people of Turks and Kurds since two years. Because Öcalan’s existing and position are important for Turkey’s democracy and peace. But unfortunately Turkey plays as deaf-mute and blind. On the contarary it arrests people who adopts Öcalan’s opinions. But there is no benefit for Turkey to arrest people” said Buldan.



Buldan also said incremental violence against women, sexual abuse and massacre relate to isolation over Öcalan. “ We had peaceful period during we visited Öcalan. Because Öcalan had important role on it. He had gave perspective to stop massacres and violence against women. Women’s organization followed Öcalan’s perspective to stop violence. But when visiting was blocked violence against women raised” said Buldan.




“ Öcalan was the one who said negotiations can’t improve without women. Öcalan has great influence over women struggle. He had put women issues on the agenda at the every meeting. He gave serious messages to AKP ( Justice and Development Party) and state about women issues” said Buldan.
