Human Rights were collapsed after Civil War and Conflict

DİYARBAKIR – Turkey is now in the shadow of increasing rights violations on 10-17 December Human Rights Week .Human Rights Association (İHD) Şırnak branch chair Raci Bilici “ Villages were burned in 90’s, now citeis were destroyed” said.

According to HDP (Peoples’ Democratic Party) reports, within civil war and conflicts , 113 times, in total 1.953 days, curfew were declared in nine cities and 35 towns. 863 people were killed in Cizre,Silopi ,İdil, Yüksekova, Nusaybin and Sur from July 2015. Again in conflict 614 people were killed included 137 children,113 women.

One Million people were forced to migrate

According to Government’s data, 355.000 people had migrated. But According to GÖÇ-DER (Migrants Social Assistance and Culture Association) data around one million people were forced to migrate.

Another implementation is many schools were transformed to military bases.

Locking the Free Press : 142 Journalists were jailed

Free Journalists Association (ÖGC) was closed by Decree with Power of Law. According to ÖGC data 143 journalists were jailed between 24 July 2016 and 20 November 2016. 116 journalist were detained last 16 months,. Also 33 radios,58 newspapers, five news agency, 28 TVs, 18 magazines and 30 publishers were closed by Decree with Power of Law.

2.863 Kurdish Politicians were Jailed

7.250 Kurdish Politicians were detained. 12 parliamentarians included HDP co-chairs Selahattin Demirtaş and Figen Yüksekdağ were jailed . Trustees were appointed to 41 Municipalities of DBP (Democratic Region Party). 53 DBP co-mayors were jailed. In total 2.863 Kurdish politicians were jailed this year.

94 women were murdered by men violence

According to İHD women comission’s data, 94 women were killed by soldier,police and family’s violence
