ŞIRNAK – Military operations towards many districts of Şırnak is extended while operation is continuing since three months. It was reported constructing ‘security ways’ in border line is stepping up while operation is extended.


Military operations towards Şırnak and its rural is extended right after rural regions were declared as ‘Special Security Zone”. A large number of soldiers and rural guards who had organized under the names of “Hançer” (dagger), “ Yıldırım” (thunderbolt) and “Bayrak” (flag) during 90s lost their life since operations have begun on April 18. Besta, Gabar, Cudi and Kato districts are center of military operation with support of thousands soldiers, rural guards and armored vehicles.


Operation towards Kato Mountain where 13 high ranking soldiers included division commander of border major general Aydoğan Aydın lost their life after helicopter was crashed on May 31 is continuing since three months. It was reported operations towards Kato is continuing by helicopter bombardments.




Another intensifying operation is continuing in Cudi Mountain. A week has passed that Governorship of Şırnak declared ‘Special Security Zones’ for Üçkiraz, Ballıkaya, Cevizli Derebaşı and Hesena villages and operations have begun right after declaration with helicopter bombardments.



It was also reported constructing ‘security ways’ in border is continuing as part of military operation.
