ADANA – HDP co-chair Figen Yüksekdağ father Mevlüt Yüksekdağ said “ my daughter left home when she was 17 due to the values she believed”. Father Yüksekdağ “This is not the first time she is jailed. She has been jailed before as well” said.

Mevlüt Yüksekdağ says Figen is 9th children among 10. And she was born in Ceyhan-Adana.” Figen studied primary and high schools in Ceyhan. She likes to singing and reading poem since then. There is no any celebration without reading poem. She has challenger, merciful, conscience, supercilious, blushing and bright personality .She was protecting the girls from the romps in our neighborhood. She was helpful to anyone. There were five rooms in our home. There were books in four rooms of five. She read hundreds books” said father Yüksekdağ.

Yüksekdağ father “My daughter was a teenager when she left home due to politic struggle. I am supporter of CHP (Republic People Party) since my youth age. I was also doing politics in CHP youth movement while Ecevit was running the party. All my children were influenced by my politic structure. But Figen was more radical and socialist than I was. We were arguing in this context and sometimes I was getting angry to her. Everybody knows many people in my daughter ages were hanged and jailed because of their thoughts. Therefore we tried to stop her but she left home without my and her mother permissions. I and Her mother cried a lot. But we never dropped our heads. I said that my daughter didn’t leave home for a man. She left to struggle for values she believed” said.

“ Figen contacted with her mother after a while she left. But I didn’t speak with her for three years. I was angry to her as a father. Then she came to kiss my hand in a holy celebration. After that day I wasn’t behind from my daughter but stand by her” said father Yüksekdağ.

“ I understood that The peace hopes will increase with HDP among the people. But I don’t understand why these is such oppressions against HDP. I learnt from her friends when she was detained. I am not getting sad that she was jailed. Even me was jailed for eight years. To be jailed is normal and hard. She was also jailed before. But I am getting sad because she was captured from doing politics” said father Yüksekdağ.
