RAQQA – YJŞ traces slaved Yazidi women in Raqqa made a statement on third commemoration of Sinjar Massacre. YJŞ told they will not step back until they call to account.


Sinjar Women’s Unity (YJŞ) made a statement on third commemoration of Sinjar Massacre in Raqqa while ‘Great War’ led-by QSD (Democratic Syrian Forces) is continuing in Raqqa. It was reported tens Yazidi women participated the statement in Meşleb Neighborhood of Raqqa. Tekoşin Apoci had read the statement on behalf of YJŞ.

Apoci reminded Yazidi Massacre which was conducted on August third of 2014 by DAİŞ (Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant) and six thousand Yazidi women were captured as slave. “ They wanted to remove women position over Yazidi’s culture by Decree towards Yazidi’s women. But women of Yazidi could protect themselves on the mountain” said Apoci.


“ Women of Yazidi organized in Sinjar Mountain and YSJ was established during this period. YSJ is an answer against decree towards Yazidis. Women are resisting against genocide since three years by organizing in YJŞ. We are having revenge against DAİŞ in Raqqa Operation for captured and slaved Yazidi women. Our women were sold as slave in this city and many of them were killed. We came here to have revenge of this” said Apoci.
