VAN – ‘Conscience and Justice Watch’ of HDP in Van has begun after limited number of citizens and press workers were allowed to enter the Park. HDP’s former co-chair imprisoned Figen Yüksekdağ’s message was read at the beginning of the watch. “ I believe you will raise to people’s will in spite of built prisons in your lives. We can succeed together and we can get the justice all together” told Yüksekdağ.

HDP’s (Peoples’ Democratic Party) ‘Conscience and Justice Watch’ started in Van. The watch has begun with party’s weekly caucus in Musa Antep Peace Park of Van. The caucus started with delay because limited number of press workers allowed to enter the park late. Opening speech was made by spokesperson Osman Baydemir and HDP’s former co-chair imprisoned Figen Yüksekdağ’s message was read. Van lawmaker Bediha Özgökçe had read the letter of Figen Yüksekdağ’s message who is in prison of Kandıra.

“ Our valuable people and dear friends,

The ones who never wandered away from the conscience and justice’s way ; Hello to everyone of you! I send my greets to you who never gives up to struggle of justice. After watches of Istanbul and Diyarbakır, I believe you will rise to people’s will in spite of built prisons in your lives in Van too. None of prisons are permanent same as none of powers. None of elected representatives, journalists, public laborers, democratic politicians will be left among the stone walls. The ones who know to resist democratically in anywhere also know how to lift the sieges. Our people who collaborate from Diyarbakır to Istanbul, from Van to Izmir will open the way to justice and democratic union.

The ones who couldn’t succeed to break honorable standing of Van’s people will not succeed for the future too. Van as a city which all elected representatives are jailed unlawfully has been living injustice.


Therefore today is the time of being voice of everyone who wants to live with their conscience, honor. We can succeed together and we can get the justice all together. I send greets to all people of Van and our part’s executives and all democratic institution with my all respect”
