HAKKARİ – Villager of Şapatan Village Necmettin Korkmaz spoke to dihaber about he and his wife and six year-old daughter were exposed to torture by soldiers. “ I was dragged behind a panzer as my hands were tied” told Necmettin Korkmaz and wife Korkmaz said money and golds in house were seized by police during operation.



Tortured around 100 villagers of Şapatan in Şemdinli-Hakkari by special police forces and soldiers come to light. Father Necmettin Korkmaz who was exposed to torture with his wife and six year-old daughter spoke to dihaber.




“ It was around 01.00 of the night. Windows were broken right after I heard voice footfalls. I ran to door but I couldn’t catch up to open the door because door was broken too. They broke the door by their foot. Then four or five people did all up on me and point guns to my head and hit with gun stocks. They claimed we are responsible on death of a special police forces. They told us ‘ You did this, we will have revenge of our martyr. You will not have peace during we are here. We will take lives as we lost lives’. Then I was taken outside of the house while I was hearing my wife’s scream and crying. They hit to my head and back with woods. I was threatened by death and they battered my wife and daughter too” told father Korkmaz.




Korkmaz says torture had continued during he was taken to police headquarter. “ My hands were tied up to panzer. I was dragged around 500 meters by panzer. It was forbidden to stand up. I was hit when I was trying to stand up. Talking, screaming were forbidden during torture” told Korkmaz.




Korkmaz also said doctor named Elif Ç. didn’t give battered report to him. “ She told the police you didn’t batter him enough. Batter him more. Our martyrs’ blood will not left on the ground. We don’t give report (battered report) to anyone” told Korkmaz.




Wife Kudret Korkmaz said she was battered with tied too. “ Three police had trampled over my body. None of belongings were left solid. I couldn’t even find money and gold we were keeping in home. They took our money in front of my eyes” told wife Korkmaz.
