VAN –Imprisoned co-chair of HDP Selahattin Demirtaş sent message to ‘Conscience and Justice Watch’ of HDP in Musa Anter Peace Park of Van. Demirtaş told “The reason we are kept in jail is preparation for early election by AKP-MHP’s alliance’. Of course we don’t afraid from election. HDP’s success will be also success of Turkey’s democracy.”

‘Conscience and Justice Watch’ of HDP (Peoples’ Democratic Party) is continuing in Van after it was conducted in Diyarbakır and Istanbul. Imprisoned co-chair of HDP Selahattin Demirtaş’ message was read at sixth days of the watch in Musa Anter Peace Park.

The letter of Demirtaş was read by HDP’s Van lawmaker Lezgin Botan.

“ I send my greets to people of Van who didn’t spare their solidarity with my friends in ‘Conscience and Justice Watch’ despite all pressures. I also condemn unlawfull blockade towards HDP’s lawmakers during the watch

Barricades and blockade can’t be strong enough to cut ties of affection between people and HDP. . The ones who tries to purge HDP by disregarding to constitution and international agreement and politic morality will not be successful and government will not achieve its objective that block to HDP to meet with people on the street.

My valuable brothers and sisters, cruel implementations and fascism can continue for tens years if we obey to fear and give up from our principle in return of our personal benefits. But fascism will fall to pieces if we resist anywhere. They try us to being disgraced in front of public opinion. We will not support equal and free living all together under democratic unit Turkey despite all assaults.

AKP (Justice and Development Party)-MHP (Nationalist Movement Party) alliance have started to prepare for early election. That’s why I and my friends are kept in prison unlawfully. But of course we are not fearing of early election.

That’s why first of all , I call all people to involve our party’s regional conventions. Our women and youth councils should complete its organizing in every neighborhoods. We need to prepare for early election while we are also resisting against injustice. Our discharged co-mayors , who elected by peoples’ votes despite their duties were seized by appointing trustee should continue to not leave people alone in their wedding, funeral like they are still on task. Our all lawmakers should spend time with people and listen their problem and resolve as much as they can.


Our all people should be sure of that even most of us are jailed, we are as HDP are living the strongest and the most decisive period. We are the key party which will determine the politic future of Turkey.

My valuable brothers and sisters,

I am aware of that you are under pressure and treatment. We are living in a fascist period which needed courage even for going out to street. But we can’t leave a legacy for our children except a painful future if we obey to fear and fascim.

Conditions may get harder. But do not forget that fascism will use it all means when it heads for the last roundup. We will destroy the fascism if we do what it needs and protect our historic responsibility. HDP’s success will be our people’s and country’s future.

I send my greets to all friends and call all people to on duty with their all courage and passion.
