MERSİN – 12 Women prisoners in Tarsus T Type Female Prison launched an indefinite hunger strike without rotation because of demanding implementing of legal rights. Lawyer Turgay Bek told decision of hunger strike is ‘worrisome’ and asked authorities to accept the demands of prisoners.
Monitoring to Prisons Committee of Adana Bar’s chairperson lawyer Turgay Bek told 12 women prisoners in Tarsus T Type Female Prison launched an indefinite hunger strike without rotation because of demanding implementing of legal rights.
“ Recognition of legal rights, implementation of prison legislation, action and punishment of officers who beaten and tortured at entrance of the prison, transmission of petitions and letters, termination of bare call at the entrance of the prison are some of prisoners’ demand” told lawyer Bek.
