NEWS BUREAU –Foreign Minister of Turkey Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu made a statement on expected referendum in Federal Kurdisn Region of Iraq. “Our expectation from Erbil to cancel decision of the referendum” told Çavuşoğlu.


Foreign Minister of Turkey Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu made a press conference with Iraqi Foreign Minister Ibrahim Al-Jafari in Baghdad. Çavuşoğlu told they expect from Erbil government to cancel decision of the referendum which is planning to being conducted on September 25. “ I want to mention that we are supporting unity and solidarity of Iraq. Turkmen identity of Telafer should protected and we have common will with Iraqi Government on struggle against terrorism. PKK (Kurdistan Woker’s Party) is a terrorist organization which has activities in the land of Iraq as much as DEAŞ (Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant). We want to improve our relation with Iraq in every field. We believe Erbil and Baghdad should resolve their all problems in context of unity of Iraq. Of course it is important that Erbil should get its rights. We always supported Federal Kurdistan Region Government of Iraq against DEAŞ. But we also told Erbil their faults. We told them decision of referendum is wrong. I will mention it again in Erbil. Our expectation from Erbil is quite clear : Cancel the decision of referendum” told Çavuşoğlu.
