ANKARA – HDP co-chair Selahattin Demirtaş gave testimony against charge of “ Humiliating to Turkish Government, its soldiers and law enforcement agencies” by SEGBİS (Sound and Image Information System) from Edirne F type Prison. Demirtaş said “ We challenged against AKP, not judgment.”

HDP (Peoples’ Democratic Party) co-chair Selahattin Demirtaş was sued by reason of some social media shares which shared from HDP official account. HDP official twitter account had shared “ All armies helpless against peoples. Erdoğan’s army lost and they will lose again”. Demirtaş lawyers also participated the trial.

Judge Ayhan Altun asked to Demirtaş whether he received the accusation file or not. He also asked Demirtaş’s healt condition . Demirtaş said “Thank you. We are trying to be good”.

Then a lawyer of Demirtaş said “ Judging my client due to social media shares is contrary to article 83 of the Constitution that regulates the immunity of the legilasture. Therefore we demand to “cessation” of the file. Because my client is still a parliemantarian and he cant judged”.

After the lawyer speech Demirtaş “ On this reason I will not give testimony but he will speak about procedure. There are 102 different accusations in 20 different cities against me about my speeches. But I am forced to defend my self by SEGBİS. Because I am jailed and left alone since 45 days. Even meeting with my lawyers are recorded by prison authorities. I have also health issues like all parliamentarians. I cant use my righ to defend myself. I want to give testimony to the court face to face” said Demirtaş.

“We don’t challenge against judgment but AKP. We are fully respecting to the equal judgment but not AKP’s judgment. Judgement has right to judicature to anyone even to president” said Demirtaş.
