NEWS BUEROU – HDP İzmir PM Ertuğrul Kürkçü, shared comments about assassination of Ambassador Andrey Karlov from his social media account. Kürkçü reminded that Andrey Karlov had said ‘PKK is not terrorist organization’ like murdered Diyarbakır Bar President Tahir Elçi said.


Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) İzmir PM Ertuğrul Kürkçü point a striking parallel between Andrey Karlov and Tahir Elçi. Kürkçü “ At one time in Ankara… Will anyone who is saying ‘PKK is not terrorist’organization’ being killed?” on his twitter account.

Kürkçü’s comment reminded that Andrey Karlov had a speech to Ria Novosti and he had said “We don’t look at PKK (Kurdistan Workers Party) as a terrorist organization” on October 2015. Ambassador Karlov also had said “ I mentioned to Turkish Foreigner Ministry that we understand your concerns about terrorism.Specially after terror attack in Ankara. But neither PKK nor PYD ( Democratic Union Party) are on the terror lists of Russia and UN Security Council. We met with Kurdish envoys of Syria.”



14 months after Karlov’s speech , he was killed. Tahir Elçi also had a statement on TV and he had said “PKK is not terrorist organization. PKK is an armed politic movement even sometime there are terror actions.”



Tahir Elçi had been killed in Sur after 45 days.
