ANKARA – HDP Urfa PM Osman Baydemir stated that Kurdish National Unity needs to be actualized specifically these historic period in Middle East. “We shall not sacrifice the Kurdish population profits to party’s profits. Let us go beyond the ordinary and give Kurdish population a piece of good news” said Baydemir.



Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) Urfa parliamentarian Osman Baydemir gave an interview to dihaber about discussions of Kurdish National Unity.



*Kurdish national unity is spoke more intensive than before. Why?




There are many different nation, belief and denomination. From the beginning till now many nation and beliefs were destroyed. Today again Middle East peoples’ future is sealed. There will be new design in Middle East such as SkyesPicot Agreement. A century ago no one asked to Kurds about what they wanted. Kurdish population’s fate was set without their free will. If Kurds don’t want to lose in 21. Century then there is left only a thing to do: A discourse ties with national demands, a composite demand.

International balance also important. Half of freedom is on Kurds’ hand. Depends on Kurds’ alliance. All parties need to sacrifice their parties’ interests to people and nation’s benefits. If we have such a perspective Kurdish Politic will be much more close their freedom.



* What are we going to face with if national unity effort fails such a historic period?




If centennial sickness continues my concern is that unfortunately Kurdish People tragedy’s will continue. I don’t mention any organization name. Because everybody will be responsible.

* Why can’t national unity improve despite needing such a unity?

I want to improve a different discourse. Kurdish people, in south of Kurdistan or west or east. All parties had blamed to other parties on national unity failed. If you ask me; all of us were lack. Therefore all parties and their leader need to criticize their self.

Let us think objectively; do American, European or Ankara improve Kurdish National Unity or Kurd itself? Of course Kurd has to improve itself. Therefore I call for Kurdish parties to work on national unity.



* Where is you stance on this issue as HDP?




We have effort on it. We as HDP (Peoples’ Democratic Party) don’t see ourselves from a side. We are only side of solution. We aim to be facilitative. Our co-chair already had some meeting with some other parties’ leader, especially from south Kurdistan (Northern Iraq). We also decelerated a manifest as 11 article which includes our expectations and solution offers.



* Can you tell about 11 articles?




In every conditions, Kurdish parties will not cut connection between each other. Also all parties members, leader will not use ignominiously language against each other. Opposite improve a constructive dialogue.





* What point are you today?




I would like to share a pleasing progress. After our visitation, many parties had met with each other and tried to improve a better dialogue. A meeting traffic has begun. We know that it is still continuing. We also tell our brothers that as HDP whenever you need us we are ready to take responsibility
